Airmada Escape from Gas Giant

This has taken a long time, purely because I have been meaning to do things with over and over again but kept changing my mind. The version here is me deciding not to add shading to the ships after all, and deciding that I refuse to keep re-arranging their position either. I just cannot do anything more with it or I'll brain myself. aarghh!

The background is a photo of several layers of card staggered back from one another, coloured in soft pastels and watercolour paint. They were then lit by inserting bike lights of green and red in the gaps between the cards. The background sky is acrylic on board, and the sun is very weird. It was created by putting shaving foam in a bowl, smoothing it off flat, adding various colours of paint, swirling it round with a fork, and then laying paper on top. Then peel back the paper and leave to dissolve for a day. Voila, one bursting gas giant.

I do not normally go for something so involved and complex, but I do like to experiment . This is my second attempt at incorporating models/3D. My first attempt was my Miniature Circus, see - [link]

Once again it has some familiar themes, coming from roughly the same universe as Dream Castle and A Most Tropical Disease.
